Festival Place unveils barrierless parking with Hozah Autopay

Festival Place

Festival Place Shopping Centre has introduced a new barrier-free, ticketless parking system powered by Hozah’s Autopay technology, transforming one of Hampshire’s busiest car parks into a fully automated, frictionless parking experience.

Using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) and Hozah’s app-free Autopay platform, the system enables seamless entry and exit with automatic payments, eliminating queues, physical tickets, and the need for on-site payment hardware. Drivers simply register their vehicle and payment details once, and Autopay handles the rest.

A modernised car park for a modern retail environment

Festival Place’s car park upgrade supports the centre’s broader commitment to convenience, sustainability, and customer satisfaction. By removing physical barriers and manual payment processes, the system:

  • Improves traffic flow and reduces congestion at peak times, particularly during events and seasonal surges.

  • Minimises hardware maintenance and cash handling, reducing operational overheads.

  • Enhances the customer experience, ensuring a smoother arrival and departure for shoppers.

  • Supports environmental goals through reduced idling and paperless transactions.

Partnership with purpose

Hozah’s collaboration with Festival Place goes beyond technology. As part of the rollout, 1% of Autopay profits are being donated to Festival Place’s charity partner, Spotlight, which supports young people in the local community.

From September 2025, Festival Place introduces ANPR-powered, barrierless and ticketless parking with Hozah Autopay. Pricing stays the same and kiosks remain.

Barrier‑free convenience with Autopay

From September 2025, Festival Place is introducing a barrierless, ticketless parking system powered by Hozah’s Autopay, bringing fully automated, app-free parking to one of Hampshire’s busiest retail destinations.

Using automatic number plate recognition (ANPR), the new system allows drivers to simply drive in and out, with the correct fee charged automatically and no change to current pricing.

This upgrade reflects Festival Place’s commitment to enhancing the visitor experience while improving traffic flow, operational efficiency, and sustainability. The site’s central location and multiple entry points made it an ideal candidate for Hozah’s barrier-free model, designed to handle high-volume environments smoothly and efficiently.

Festival Place has partnered with Hozah to deliver the new experience. Registration takes just a couple of minutes online, drivers simply add their vehicle number plate and payment details once, and Autopay handles future visits automatically.

Ways to pay

The system provides drivers with multiple ways to pay, ensuring accessibility and flexibility for every type of visitor:

  • Autopay (pre-register once): Drive in and out with no tickets, apps or queues.

  • Ticketless kiosks (cash or card): For visitors who prefer to pay on-site, kiosks remain available; drivers simply enter their registration number.

  • One-off digital payment (PayByWeb): For those who prefer not to pre-register, payment can be made for a single visit online.

  • Season ticket: A seven-day and a five-day season ticket are available. Existing holders should check with Festival Place to ensure their number plate is correctly registered.

This range of payment options showcases the flexibility of Hozah’s platform, allowing venues to modernise parking without excluding cash or card users.

Community impact and celebration

There is no change to the existing pricing structure, and as part of the initiative, Hozah is donating 1% of its Autopay parking profits to Festival Place’s charity, Spotlight, on behalf of drivers.

To celebrate the launch, visitors who pre-register for Autopay were entered into a prize draw to win a year’s free parking. The retailer winner has already been announced, with the driver winner to follow soon.

We’re honoured to be partnering with Festival Place to bring a truly modern parking experience to their visitors, while giving drivers the flexibility to pay how they want, whether by cash, card, Autopay, or a one‑off digital payment without registering. Our goal is to make parking stress‑free and help Festival Place focus on what matters most, their shoppers and community, and we’re proud to support Spotlight, who do great work to empower young people.

A partnership built for the future

The collaboration between Festival Place and Hozah demonstrates how modern, barrier-free parking systems can transform customer journeys while helping operators simplify management, reduce costs, and align with sustainability goals.

For businesses and landlords, it’s a model that shows how technology-led infrastructure can deliver both operational efficiency and community benefit, proving that even small changes, like the removal of a parking barrier, can make a big difference.

We are really excited about the changes to our car park. We are always looking for ways to improve the experience for our visitors, and making parking easier makes total sense. These days, there should be no need for printed tickets, and most of us are used to using parking apps. This system is even better, especially if you pre‑register your details. You’ll never have to worry about tickets, cash or cards or even remember what your number plate is. You can just drive in and out. We were also particularly pleased that we had the opportunity to direct some of the parking fees to our charity Spotlight.
